GOtime5 Clock Configurations

The GOtime5 physical time clock offers a range of configuration options that dictate how an employee authenticates for time and attendance purposes. These configurations are a combination of the device's main Clock Setting and the individual employee's Employee Setting.

Clock Settings

This is the primary authentication method configured on the GOtime5 clock itself.
  • Fingerprint Only: This setting requires employees to authenticate solely with their registered fingerprint.
  • Badge + Fingerprint: Employees must first scan their badge, then provide their fingerprint to authenticate. This method provides two-factor authentication.
  • Badge Only: This requires employees to use only their assigned badge for authentication.
  • User List + Fingerprint: Employees can either select their name from a user list on the device and provide a fingerprint, or just provide a fingerprint for authentication.
  • User List + PIN: Employees can either select their name from a user list and enter a Personal Identification Number (PIN), or just enter a PIN for authentication.
  • User ID + Fingerprint: Employees must first enter their User ID, followed by providing a fingerprint for authentication.
  • User ID + PIN: Employees must first enter their User ID, followed by their PIN for authentication.

Employee Settings

This is the specific authentication method assigned to an individual employee's profile in the TimeTrakGO software.
  • Badge Only: The employee is configured to authenticate using only their badge. The device will check for a valid badge and grant access.
  • Device Default: The employee's authentication method is set to the device's default configuration. This means the employee will authenticate using the primary method configured on the GOtime5 clock (e.g., fingerprint, badge, or PIN).
  • ID & PIN: The employee is configured to authenticate using both a User ID and a PIN. The device will prompt for the ID and then the PIN for verification.

How the Configurations Work Together

The GOtime5 evaluates the Clock Setting and the individual Employee Setting to determine the correct authentication method for each punch. For example, if the GOtime5 clock is set to Badge + Fingerprint and an employee's setting is Device Default, the employee will have to authenticate using both their badge and fingerprint. However, if that same clock is used by an employee with the Badge Only setting, they would only need to use their badge.
This flexibility allows administrators to customize how each employee interacts with the GOtime5 time clock, ensuring security and ease of use. Understanding these combinations is crucial for setting up and troubleshooting clock configurations to ensure accurate and secure time tracking. The combination of these settings allows for a granular control over who can access the system and how they do so, providing a robust solution for diverse workplace needs.
