How to create a desktop shortcut in Chrome
Follow these steps to put a TimeTrakGO icon on your desktop using the Google Chrome browser.
Step 1: Open TimeTrakGO in Chrome
Open Chrome and go to the TimeTrakGO page you want the shortcut to open, such as your login page, or your Browser Based Time Clock page if the computer will be used as a shared time clock.
Step 2: Open the Chrome menu
Click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the browser.
Step 3: Choose Create shortcut
Select Cast, save, and share, then choose Create shortcut...
Step 4: Name the shortcut and create it
In the window that appears, keep the suggested name or type a new one (for example, TimeTrakGO or TimeTrakGO Time Clock). If you see an Open as window option, check it to open TimeTrakGO in its own window without browser tabs.
Click Create. The shortcut icon will now be on your desktop.
Older versions of Chrome
If you don't see Cast, save, and share in the menu, look under More tools > Create shortcut... instead. Updating Chrome to the latest version is recommended.
Using a Mac?
On a Mac, Chrome adds the shortcut to the Chrome Apps folder in Applications instead of the desktop. You can drag it from there to your Dock for quick access.
