How to Enable Geofence App Security

Control where employees can clock in and out from the mobile app.

Geofence App Security lets you create virtual boundaries that control clocking in and out from the TimeTrakGO mobile app. You can block punches made outside a geofence, or allow all punches and flag the ones made outside a fenced area.

Examples of Geofenced Locations

The perimeter of your company, so employees must be on site to clock in.
Multiple job sites out in the field.

Step 1 Activate the Feature

Go to the Feature Manager and click Activate on Geofence App Security.

Step 2 Choose How Punches Outside a Geofence Are Handled

Once activated, the settings page opens. Choose whether users can clock in or out when they are outside a geofence location:

Yes: all punches are allowed. Punches made outside a fenced location are flagged on the map.
No: users cannot clock in or out when they are outside a geofence location.

Step 3 Add a Geofence Location

Click + Add New Geofence Location.

Then fill in the form:

Description: give the location a name, such as "Main Office" or "Warehouse."
User Assignment: assign the location to All Users or to specific users or groups.
Radius: set the size of the fence. You may need to adjust it after you set the location on the map.
Address: enter the starting address, then click the map to set the location pin. If the perimeter is too small, increase the radius.
Click Add to add the location to the list of clocking locations.
