How to Lock History Hours

Locking history hours prevents any further edits to time entries that have already been reviewed and submitted—typically after payroll has been completed. This helps ensure payroll accuracy and maintains a clean audit trail.

🚨 Note:

Once hours are locked, they cannot be edited unless they are manually unlocked by an administrator.

How to Lock History Hours

To lock history hours, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to History Locking Settings

  1. Go to Company Setup.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Click on History Locking.

2. Choose a Lock-Through Date

  1. Click the calendar icon next to Lock Hours Through.
  2. Select the date you want to lock hours through.
  3. A confirmation message will appear. Click Continue to proceed.
 

3. Confirm Hours Are Locked

To verify that hours are locked:
  1. Go to the Time and Hours section.
  2. Use the calendar to navigate to a previously locked date.
  3. You should see that time entries on or before that date are locked and cannot be edited.

Lock history hours only after:
  • All time entries are reviewed
  • Edits are finalized
  • Payroll has been submitted
