How to Enroll User Fingerprints

Register employee fingerprints on the GOtime5 clock so they can punch in and out with a scan.

Step-by-Step Video Guide

This guide walks administrators and supervisors through enrolling employee fingerprints on the GOtime5 time clock. Once enrolled, employees can punch in and out with a quick fingerprint scan.

Before You Start

  • You need an administrator or supervisor login for the clock.
  • Have each employee you are enrolling present at the clock.

Step 1 Open the Management Menu

  1. On the GOtime5 main screen, press Manage.
  2. Enter your administrator or supervisor login credentials.

Tip: For quicker access, assign the RFID badge that came with the clock to your profile in the TimeTrakGO web portal, then tap it instead of typing your credentials. See How to Assign a Time Card Badge to an Employee. You can also enroll a supervisor's fingerprint for fast access to the management areas.

Step 2 Select the Employee

  1. Tap User Management and Enrollments.
  2. Choose the employee you want to enroll from the list on the right side of the screen.

Note: Use the search option to find an employee quickly by name.

Step 3 Capture the Fingerprint

  1. Tap Capture Enrollment.
  2. Have the employee scan the same finger three times, following the on-screen prompts for each scan.
  3. After the third successful scan, a success indicator appears to confirm the fingerprint has been saved.

Tip: Good placement makes enrollment and future punches faster and more reliable. Use proper finger placement and apply consistent, moderate pressure on every scan. See Important! Proper Fingerprint Placement.

Step 4 Enroll a Backup Finger (Highly Recommended)

Enroll a second finger for each employee so they can still punch if their primary finger can't be read, for example because of a cut or bandage. Tap Capture Enrollment again and repeat Step 3 with a different finger.

Step 5 Repeat for All Employees

Repeat Steps 2 through 4 for each employee until everyone has at least one finger enrolled.

Next Step

Share proper scanning technique with your employees so their punches read the first time. See Important! Proper Fingerprint Placement.
